The short version: Simple Financials stores all of your financial data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your personal or financial information.
Simple Financials ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is an iOS personal finance application developed and published by Simple Financials. This Privacy Policy describes our practices with respect to information when you use our App.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Because all financial data you enter is stored exclusively on your own device, your sensitive information never leaves your phone through our systems.
2. Information We Collect
Financial Data You Enter
The App allows you to enter the following types of financial information:
- Current account balance
- Income sources, amounts, and payment schedules
- Paycheck base amounts and reduced-pay configurations
- Scheduled unpaid holidays and missed-day entries
- Expense names, amounts, recurrence schedules, and due dates
- Loan installment amounts and remaining payment counts
This data is stored only on your device. We have no access to it, and it is never transmitted to our servers.
Automatically Collected Information
The App may collect limited, non-identifiable technical information to help diagnose crashes and improve stability, such as:
- App version number
- iOS version and device type (e.g., "iPhone, iOS 17") — but never a unique device identifier
- Crash logs and stack traces via Apple's built-in crash reporting
This information cannot be used to identify you personally and is handled in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, and have no access to:
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Account numbers, bank credentials, or financial account data
- Your location
- Advertising identifiers or tracking data
- Any financial figures you enter into the App
3. How Your Data Is Stored
All financial data you enter is stored locally on your device using iOS-native storage (UserDefaults / Core Data / local file storage). This means:
- Your data exists only on your iPhone.
- If you delete the App, your data is deleted with it.
- If you transfer to a new device via iCloud Backup or device transfer, your data may be included in that backup — subject to Apple's iCloud terms, not ours.
- We have no servers that store your financial information, and no backend database containing your records.
We encourage you to use a device passcode and enable iOS data protection to keep your device and its locally stored data secure.
4. How We Use Information
The limited, non-identifiable technical information we may receive (crash logs, app version) is used solely to:
- Identify and fix bugs or crashes
- Improve App stability and performance
- Understand which iOS versions and device types to support
We do not use any information for advertising, marketing profiling, or sale to third parties.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share any personal information — because we do not collect any.
The only third party with any technical involvement in the App is Apple Inc., through the App Store distribution platform and iOS crash reporting. Apple's data practices are governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
If you contact us by email for support, we will only use the information you provide to respond to your request. We do not add you to mailing lists or share your email with any third party.
6. Children's Privacy
Simple Financials is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. 7. Your Rights & Choices
Because all data is stored locally on your device:
- Access & Correction: You can view and edit all data directly within the App at any time.
- Deletion: You can delete individual entries within the App, or delete the App entirely to remove all data from your device.
- Data Portability: Your data lives on your device and is accessible through the App interface.
There is no account to close or server-side profile to request deletion of, because none exists.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide notice within the App or through the App Store update notes.
Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
